Comparing Ergonomics of the i-mop Floor Scrubber Against a Mop and Bucket
Share:
Our research demonstrates that both the intensity and duration of stress are notably lower when using the i-mop, suggesting a decreased risk of injury.
At i-team, we understand the importance of creating safer and more efficient cleaning experiences for cleaning professionals in Australia and New Zealand. That's why we recently conducted a study comparing the ergonomics of the i-mop floor scrubber to the conventional mop and bucket.
What is the i-mop floor scrubber-dryer?
The i-mop floor scrubber dryer, created by i-team in 2014, is an innovative cleaning solution that has revolutionized the cleaning process. It offers a powerful auto scrubber that cleans floors faster, easier, and with better results than traditional mops. The i-mop effortlessly turns 360° on the spot, enabling easy cleaning under furniture, around obstacles, in tight spaces, and up to edges.
It's well-suited for medium to large spaces and areas with high foot traffic that require interim cleaning. Since its inception, the i-mop has continuously evolved with new features added every few years to meet the changing needs of consumers, ensuring it remains at the forefront of cleaning technology.
What research did we do?
In our recent study investigating the ergonomic performance of the i-mop , we conducted a comparative analysis against the traditional mop and bucket method. Utilizing motion sensors and tracking software, we meticulously measured and analyzed the levels of physical strain and duration experienced by the body during cleaning tasks performed with both methods.

The results
Our findings indicate that utilizing the i-mop floor scrubber results in reduced risk of injury during cleaning tasks compared to the traditional mop and bucket method. The graphs presented below illustrate the intensity and duration of stress experienced during cleaning activities. A higher peak height reflects increased stress intensity, while peak width indicates the duration of stress.
