Capital Equipment Hire is a company involved in the sales and hire of cleaning equipment based in Sydney. A family business since 2004, Capital now offer the i-mop and i-scrubs as part of their hire fleet. Damon Couper, MD of Capital, gives us his insights on the i-team equipment.

Tell us a little bit about Capital Equipment Hire – the where, what, how & when!

We specialize in cleaning equipment solutions for commercial and industrial applications ranging from the hospitality, healthcare, construction and corporate industries. Our business is broken into sales and hire, whereby customers can choose to purchase scrubbers, sweepers, vacuums or other equipment solutions outright, or opt for casual/long-term hire agreements, best suiting their budget. We diagnose our customer’s cleaning needs and provide a solution from the right supplier that best fits their requirements in the long-term. What made you choose i-mop scrubber for inclusion in your cleaning equipment hire fleet?

The i-mop has been a significant complement to our existing hire fleet, a specialty scrubber we have needed for quite some time. The i-mop itself in many ways is a very unique cleaning equipment solution available (there really is nothing else in the market that comes close to comparing) due to it’s compact design, operation, and cleaning performance. The large number of accessory pads, brushes, batteries and chargers available make the i-mop a highly versatile and customizable option that can service a significant range of customer needs across multiple industries. In short, it is our ‘go-to’ product in our hire fleet.

And what about the i-scrub small scrubbing machines? What niche do they fill?

The i-scrub 21 & 30 have fast became a favourite for hire as well, with many hires converting to purchases due to it’s cleaning intensity and ease of use. In terms of it’s niche, the i-scrub 21 B mini-scrubber is perfect for bathrooms and very narrow areas. Traditional commercial and industrial cleaning equipment focuses on covering large areas in efficient timing, but tends to overlook the narrowest of spots. The i-scrub 21B is the perfect solution. Similarly the i-scrub 30EM orbital floor scrubber helps clean narrow areas, but with more scrub pressure than the i-scrub 21, giving a deeper clean and better performance for heavily soiled areas. The i-scrub 30EM has received a significant amount of positive feedback from hire customers.

The i scrub models offer our customer base the opportunity to aggressively scrub hard to reach areas, common applications include bathrooms, cubicles and industrial staircase treads.

As someone with a lot of experience with cleaning machines, what is your personal opinion on the i-mop?

The i-mop is a favourite among customers and staff due to its compact design, excellent maneuverability and the ability to clean really well. The light overall machine weight makes it perfect to transport from site to site with ease.

Any stories or fun facts about the i-mop?

The best thing about the i-mop is that is it perfect for routine cleaning and also for those once-off cleanups people need from time to time. It saved us once from a large spill that happened in our own office!
