Stephen Townsend Cleaning & Maintenance is Sydney’s highest rated commercial cleaning company, 16 years in the making. We recently spoke to Joanne to hear how the i-mop has helped them maintain their high customer ratings.

Tell us a little bit about Stephen Townsend Cleaning; Your history & what you do?

I started the company in 2005, so we have been going for 16 years now. Our core focus is Strata and office cleaning. A lot of our business comes from word of mouth, we’ve grown quite significantly over the last couple of years.

When did you first come across the i-mop?

I first heard about the i-mop from a friend that runs Tongli Supermarkets. They’re using i-mops to clean all their stores and they spoke very highly of the product.

What sort of applications and what types of floors do you clean with the i-mop?

Polished timber floors, rough epoxy floors, marble and bluestone floors.

How were you previously cleaning these floors? How does the i-mop compare?

Mopping with a traditional mop, and sometimes used a deck scrub and/or a pressure blaster for the bin room floors. Challenge with mopping, the cleaner gets lazy and don’t change the water as frequently as they should.

What has been the outcome of the i-mop?

Outstanding results, very, very good machine. We had one client that was looking to replace all the tiles because they were looking old and dirty, and after we cleaned the floor with the i-mop the client was blown away with the results - it made the floor look like new. Also, it saved us a lot of time when cleaning the bin rooms, which have an epoxy floor. These floors are very rough, and the i-mop makes it so easy to clean now. We’re saving approximately 2hrs per day per site, which gives us more time to focus on other areas.

Overall comments on the quality or reliability of the i-mop?

Very reliable - we have got several i-mops now and had no issues. Also, the technical support from your team has been great, when it comes to recommending what accessories and chemicals, we should use on different floor types.
